2009 CRC Report

The 2009 CRC, hosted by Florida West Coast Chapter, was a fantastic weekend for ASHRAE.  All the social events were great and the training worked out with both Regions covering issues in the same session.  The Saturday Awards Lunch was very eventful for the Central Florida Chapter.  In advance – it took a lot of hard work and hours from many people – and with everyone’s efforts the following awards were accepted:

Technology Awards (Category: Winning Company – Project):

Residential Buildings and Multi-Family:   X-nth for the Marriott Vacation Club – Crystal Shores

Health Care Facilities:   TLC for All Children’s Hospital Central Energy Plant

Public Assembly Facilities:   X-nth for Daytona Beach Kennel Club

Commercial Buildings (New):   TLC for OUC Reliable Plaza

Commercial Buildings (Existing):   X-nth for Sheraton Baha Mar

Refrigeration for Comfort Cooling:   Russ Heiken with X-nth for Carlisle Regional Medical Center in Pennsylvania

Chapter Awards:

Best Newsletter – a new look from Jason Alphonso

Best Website – revised color scheme and front page from Wade Conlan

Best Refrigeration – Joe deArmas with a solid effort of articles

Best Programs – Rich King had a fantastic line-up and is nominated for the Society Chapter Programs Star Award (for Best in Society)

Best CTTC – solid team effort lead by Mike Dillard

Best Historian – good articles on 4 companies and a great article by Tim Citek on Tim Citek

Best Membership Promotion – solid team work by Amy Weaver and Amy Pastor to lead the charge in Region on upgrades

Best Student Activities – Megan kept our streak alive in this category with help from Anik who takes over this year

Best Research Promotion – John Miller did a fantastic job with help from Firouz

And finally, Best Chapter in Region XII for Central Florida!!!!

As an added bonus, Todd Moore won the Best RVC in Region XII for his efforts in Student Activities.
