This year is going to be a challenging one. Due to the economy, many companies and many individuals have decided to cut back on paying membership dues for their employees or for themselves. Our goal as the MP committee is to retain all of you as members. We have a great program planned for the year and expect to see all of your faces at our monthly meetings. We know that you will remember how valuable ASHRAE is to you and your company.
During the workshops at CRC this August, we reviewed costs and member benefits at each level. I’d like to share with you some updates that we received:
| Member Grade/Type | Qualifications |
Yearly Dues |
| Member | 12 Society-approved years |
$165.00 |
| Associate | Anyone who isn’t a Student or a new member |
$165.00 |
| Affiliate | New Members who were never a Student Member | $50.00 year one
$70.00 year two $90.00 year three |
| Student | Full-time Student in approved course of study |
$16.00 |
*Chapter dues for all Central Florida Members is $40.00 annually
A very important change will be effective on July 1, 2010. Society dues will be increasing from $165.00. You do have the opportunity to renew your membership for up to 3 years. If you renew for more than one year at a time, you get a $15 discount on each additional year up to a total of 3 years. For example, if you were to renew your membership today for two years, you would pay $165 for the first year and $150 for the second year. Take the time now to renew your membership online at www.ashrae.org (Yes! It’s online and very simple to renew). Think about adding a 2 or 3 year package instead of just the one year to save a few dollars. And don’t forget to add those Central Florida Chapter Dues!
We look forward to working with all of you again this year. All of the members will be hearing from the Membership Promotion committee by the middle of September in an effort to make sure we have all your correct information to make sure you are getting the emails and newsletters and all other important information on Membership Upgrades and Renewals.
