Spring is in the air as we keep rolling through ASHRAE Central Florida’s series of programs for the 2010-2011 year! After a break for March’s annual Shrimp Boil our next technical program is coming up Thursday, April 14th when we welcome Dr. Muthusamy Swami to our chapter for a discussion on Better Buildings through Energy Modeling. Dr. Swami has over 29 years of experience developing scientific and application software including the EnergyGauge FlaCom software required to prove the buildings we design comply with Chapter 13 of the Florida Building Code. Please do not miss this Month’s program as we will discuss the current status of energy modeling, where the industry is heading and what tools are available to us.
Following Dr Swami’s presentation this April we will close the 2010/2011 programs Calendar with a presentation by ASHRAE Society President Lynn Bellenger. ASHRAE’s first woman president will be our guest to showcase her presidential theme “Modeling a Sustainable World”. This presentation will highlight the roll ASHRAE members play in sustainable design through energy simulation, daylight analysis, CFD and the application of BIM. We will also be welcoming members from USGBC, CFEEA, ASME and BOMA for an evening of fellowship and networking that should not be missed! Please plan on Joining us on May 12th for this exciting program and event!
