April Events

It was great to see so many of you at the Shrimp Boil in March – nearly 200 members and friends attended!  A great time was had by all.  Many thanks to Dan Cross and his team who, like every year, do a fantastic job putting on this fun event.  We really appreciate all of your hard work and dedication over the years to make the Shrimp Boil the chapter’s highest attended event each year.

If you haven’t already, now is the time to sign up for our Spring Golf Tournament, taking place April 20^th at Wekiva Golf Club.  Proceeds from the tournament go towards Research Promotion and are a critical part of reaching our chapter goals.  As a past RP chair, I encourage you to take Friday afternoon off on the 20^th, hit a few golf balls with us and have a great time.  What better way to support ASHRAE?

Before our golf tournament is here, we have a technical program for you!  Join us Thursday, April 5^th, along with the local ASME chapter, for Hoy Bohanon’s presentation on Commissioning Energy Recovery Equipment.  Our sixth distinguished lecturer for the year, Mr. Bohanon will address when you can model and when you must measure for a variety of energy saving technologies.

Sign up for a booth at our ASPE-ASHRAE Product Show, coming up June 7^th at the Central Florida Fairgrounds, while booths are still available!

Finally, have you noticed ASHRAE’s new logo?  The Central Florida Chapter and the student branch at UCF now have official logos from Society to use for chapter business.  As the year goes on, you’ll notice these logos will begin to appear on correspondence from the chapter and will eventually be integrated into the chapter website.
