It was great seeing so many of you at our September technical program, thank you! We had over 50 members in attendance, including 6 of our student branch members from UCF and FIT. We’re now in full swing this ASHRAE year, and I’m excited to announce that this month’s program will be hosted by Chuck Krivickas with Duke-Energy, and Kevin Burns from the Orlando Utilities Commission!
Mr. Krivickas is the lead for the Duke Energy Florida East Business Assessment Team and is based out of Lake Mary. Mr. Burns is the Conservation Manager for OUC, and is based in Downtown Orlando. Our speakers are going to share with us the details of their commercial energy efficiency programs, along with actual case studies of local energy savings projects. These programs offer real, tangible cost reduction options to your customer base, and are a great way to positively impact their return on investment for sustainability-centric construction and retrofit projects – a service that aids ASHRAE’s core mission.
Before our technical presentation begins, our Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) group will be hosting a tech topic session with Wade Conlan, PE. Bring your questions for our local guru!
Additionally, we are offering 5 sponsorship table displays for your company promotions during the pre-event happy hour! The prices of these tables are $100 each, and they are first come first serve. You may bring whatever promotional material you desire, however in strict guidance with ASHRAE’s commercialization policies, these tables will be set up in the rooms directly adjacent to the banquet hall next to the wet bar, and can only be up during the happy hour portion of our evening. If you would like to reserve one of these tables, please email me at Nathaniel.firstname.lastname@example.org. The proceeds from these sponsorships will aid the chapter in many respects: we intend on using these proceeds to help fund various chapter events and programs, send our UCF students to the ASHRAE Winter Conference in New York, and help raise funds for Research Promotions.
The technical meeting will be on October 10th at Dubsdread Country Club, 549 W. Par St. Orlando.
