On March 8th, we will host the 10th Annual Shrimp Boil at the Winter Park Farmers Market. We had nearly 200 people in attendance last year and a good time was had by all. Come out and have some drinks, eat some shrimp and enjoy the party!

Typically, our Shrimp Boil takes the place of a March dinner meeting. This year, however, we are hosting a special technical meeting in addition to the Shrimp Boil in March. On Wednesday, March 21st, Dr. Chandra Sekhar from the National University of Singapore will be visiting our chapter and presenting some of his research on IAQ and Energy in hot and humid climates. This special event will be a joint meeting with the Spacecoast Chapter and will take place at the University of Central Florida. If you’re always wanting to attend our Thursday meetings and Dubsdread but can’t seem to fit it in, now’s your chance to attend this Wednesday meeting at UCF! Hope to see you there!
April events start right away with a dinner meeting (back at Dubsdread) on Thursday, April 5th. Commissioning Energy Recovery Equipment is the topic, presented by Hoy Bohanon from Winston-Salem, NC. Please note that this meeting is the first Thursday of April and not the second. We are keeping it interesting this spring!
On Friday, April 13th, the UCF Senior Design team working on the ASHRAE Student Design Competition will be presenting their work at the Progress Energy Symposium at UCF. This is the fourth year they’ve held the symposium and the fourth year the local ASHRAE team has been invited to participate! Come show your support for our fantastic students.
Rounding out our spring activities is our Golf Tournament. Players will be teeing off at Wekiva Golf Club on April 20th. Proceeds from the Golf Tournament go towards Research Promotion so you can feel that much better about taking an afternoon off to have a few drinks and hit a few balls!
More information on all of these events is available on the website (fliers to the left, PayPal links to the right) but don’t hesitate to contact Megan LaHiff (mlahiff@stanweaver.com) if you have any questions.
